SINTRA AND CASCAIS TOUR

6 to 8 hours

On this tour we spend the morning in Sintra, one of the most charming Portuguese mountain villages! 

 

Located 40 minutes away by car from Lisbon, Sintra has always attracted many Portuguese monarchs and wealthy families who went there to hunt and to enjoy the mountain's fresh air. 

In Sintra, we visit the Pena Palace, the most visited Royal Palace of Portugal. Situated on the top of the mountain, this fabulous Palace was built by order of king Ferdinand II in 1840 and will enchant you for the incredible and exuberant exterior decoration! 

 

If we leave early from Lisbon, we can also visit the outstanding Palace and Gardens of Regaleira that were built in the beginning of the 20th century and that are famous for the fantastic, inverted tower! 

 

The afternoon will be spent in Cascais, a lovely and glamorous seatown located on the coast of Estoril and known for the fish and seafood restaurants. 

We will walk through the streets of this ancient and luxurious seaside resort where the Portuguese Royal family used to spend the summer in 1870!

ÓBIDOS, NAZARÉ AND ALCOBAÇA TOUR

6 to 8 hours

On this tour we begin the day with a visit to a beautiful and charming fortified medieval village: Óbidos! 

Famous for the sour cherry liquor, Óbidos will impress you with its typical and rustic blue and white houses ornated with gorgeous bougainvillea. 

Lunch will be in Nazaré, a lovely fishing village famous for its wide sandy beach and seafood restaurants. 

In the afternoon, we head to Alcobaça where we visit the Church of the old Gothic Monastery that was built in the 12th century. It shelters the tombs of some of the most important Portuguese medieval kings and queens! 

Before we return to Lisbon, you will have time to taste the delicious almond and egg-based conventual sweets!

ÉVORA AND PALMELA TOUR

6 to 8 hours

On this tour we spend the morning in Évora, one of the oldest Portuguese cities which is classified as World Heritage! 

In Evora´s well-preserved historic center, we admire the ruins of the Roman temple, we pass by the Palace of the Dukes of Cadaval and visit the interior of the beautiful medieval Cathedral. 

 

At lunch, you can taste some local dishes in the restaurants located in the Geraldo square. 

 

In the afternoon, we visit the ruins of the Palmela Castle where Christians and Muslims once fought during the Reconquest of the Iberian Peninsula in the 12th and 13th centuries. 

 

The view from the Castle is impressive:  we can see the beautiful city of Setúbal and the Arrábida mountain. On the way back, we cross the 25th of April red bridge and admire the great view of Lisbon!
